Road Closure – Ontario Police Memorial Ceremony | Sunday, May 5, 2024

Hello everyone,

Please be advised of the following road closure notice from the City of Toronto on behalf of the Ontario Police Memorial Ceremony of Remembrance honouring Ontario officers who have fallen in the line of duty. The closure will occur from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 5th, 2024 and will impact Queen’s Park and some surrounding streets. 

Queen’s Park Crescent will be temporarily closed to allow Police officers to march along Queen’s Park Crescent from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, arriving at Ontario Police Memorial Park (23 Queen’s Park Cres E) for the official start of the annual Ceremony of Remembrance.

Event Date: Sunday, May 5th, 2024

Event Timing: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Event Location: Ontario Police Memorial Park (near the corner of Queen’s Park Cres E and Grosvenor St)
Closure Timing: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM

  • Queen’s Park Cres E, from Bloor St to College St
  • Queen’s Park Cres W, from Bloor St to College St
  • Grosvenor St, from Terauley Ln to Queens Park Cres E
  • Wellesley St W, from Queen’s Park Cres W to Queen’s Park Cres
  • Hoskin Ave, from Devonshire Pl. to Queen’s Park Cres W

For your awareness, the City has arranged to have special southbound access permitted through the closure at Hoskin Ave and Queen’s Park Cres West, for vehicular access to Hart House Circle and the Landmark Parking Garage. 

Please note the following: 

  • Access into Hart House Circle and the Landmark Parking Garage (Lot R) will be allowed via Hoskin Ave, south on Queens Park West, to the Wellesley Street bridge entrance.
  • Access out of the garage will be along Wellesley St to the ramp going south on Queens Park West to College St.
  • People who need access will need to request it from the police officers located at the closure points.
  • This route will be unavailable from approx. 10 AM to 11 AM, while the police march is ongoing.
