Parking gENERAL

Anyone parking on the St. George campus must pay for their parking. There are no exceptions. This includes individuals using an Accessible Parking Permit issued by the government of Ontario. Parking can be paid via the purchase of permits on our permit portal, via payment using our Pay-by-Plate machines located throughout our campus, or by using our Pay-by-Phone mobile app (ParkedIn).

Permit and daily rates for parking vary depending on the location, time and type of parking an individual would like to purchase. Our interactive parking map has all the details of where, when and the cost of using St. George parking facilities.

To find out where all our parking facilities are located, when they are available for use and by whom, please visit our interactive parking map.

There are designated accessible spaces located at various parking facilities throughout the St. George campus. Please refer to the interactive parking map for more information. Within the details tab of each parking location are specifics about if the facility offers accessible parking and where such spaces are located.

Special Accommodation parking permits are available to those who possess a valid Accessible Parking Permit (APP) issued by the government of Ontario. A copy of the permit, both front and back, must be supplied to Transportation Services staff when making your request.

If you have a diagnosis of a disability and/or a temporary disability and you do NOT have an APP, students can register with Accessibility Services (416.978.8060) to obtain a letter of support to be considered for a Special Accomodation parking permit. Faculty and staff can obtain a letter from the Office of Health and Well-Being (416.946.0537).

Interested parties who wish to arrange for special event parking – for weddings, media, or other functions – must contact the Transportation Services office at 416.978.PARK [7275] to make requests. Payment for special event parking must be received no less than five (5) business days before the event. Final bookings must be made no less than ten (10) business days before the event.

Due to priority being given to faculty, staff and student parking, any and all University events, as well as regularly sheduled maintenance of our parking facilities, Transportation Services does not guarantee special event parking requests from external parties (i.e. not part of the University community) will be approved.

Any individual who purchases a permit or daily parking (via our permit portal, Pay-by-Plate or Pay-by-Phone) agrees to abide by the regulations governing parking permits and parking facilities on the St. George campus.

It is the individual’s responsibility to be aware of all applicable regulations. Failure to adhere to them can result in a ticket being issued or vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.

Each campus has its own independently operated parking services office which provides and regulates its own parking. The following is contact information for these locations:

University of Toronto at Mississauga (905) 828-5254

University of Toronto at Scarborough (416) 287-7576

Daily parking is available at select locations throughout the St. George campus. Passes may be purchased via our permit portal, Pay-by-Plate machines, or our Pay-by-Phone app (ParkedIn).

Please be aware, during the hours of 7:00am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, some parking lots are reserved for monthly parking permit holders only. The Pay-by-Plate machines in these lots are programmed to not issue parking passes during these periods.

Attempting to park in a restricted area with a daily parking pass will result in a ticket being issued or the offending vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense. For a list of available parking locations, please consult the interactive parking map for details.

Parking tickets, known as a Parking Violation Notice (PVN), are issued by our Parking Control Officers patrolling all parking facilities on the St. George campus.

PVNs are municipally enforced tickets and the by-laws governing them are those of the City of Toronto. Anyone who receives a PVN must follow the instructions listed on the front and back of the PVN. This includes all options regarding dispute or payment, or any other matter listed on the PVN.

Any fines related to PVNs are paid to the City of Toronto and NOT Transportation Services or any department or governing body within the University of Toronto.

Transportation Services does not have the authority to rescind City of Toronto sanctioned parking tickets.
